Hi,

I tried to change datatype of column
from: numeric(9,0) not null
to: numeric(9,0) identity not null

I received syntax errors each time I tired to change the
datatype of the column using the following SQL queries:
1) alter table MY_TABEL modify MY COLUMN numeric(9,0)
identity not null
2) alter table MY_TABEL modify MY COLUMN numeric(9,0)
identity
3) alter table MY_TABEL modify MY COLUMN identity not null
4) alter table MY_TABEL modify MY COLUMN identity

Each time I recived the same error:
Server Message: Number 156, Severity 15
Server 'WAW01D07', Line 2:

Is there any one, who knows how to change the datatype to
IDENTITY just by using alter table modify. I don't want to
change the datatype by coping date from source table to temp
table, droping source tables and then recreate source table
with IDENTITY column and copy data from temp table. The
source table is very large and lots of database objects
depends on it so it takes lot of time to make the datebase
coherent.

Thank you very much for any help.

Best regards,
Krzysztof
