I have been working the last couple of days with the rte_font.zip demo and I
have a coiuple of questions.

1) I can get it to work for some fonts and not for others Is there some
characteristic about the font for it to work?

2) Does test need to be present in the rte field in order for it to change
the font type. For those fonts I have working this seems to be true but I
really need to have the font set before the users begin typing.

3) The font it pulls back when it doesn't work is Times New Roman. Is the a
system or control default within the rte?

This is on pb 8

Thank you in advance for any answers you can give

Marci

There is no way to answer this question, can you rephrase
it?

As soon as there is NO text in the RTE it reverts to Times
New Roman (or default system font), the technique you are
seeing works ONLY on SOME text present in the RTE, so the
answer is you CAN NOT "have the font set before the users
begin typing" unless you present them with some text before
they start typing :-)

1) In stepping thru the rte demo an I select ms san serif 8
10 14 etc. The program calls the SetColorLogFont function
which returns a 1 supposedly successful then later in the
script thru the of_getfont function GetColorLogFont is
called and the font returns as the Default Font Times New
Roman. This can be seen in the
is_colorlogfont.lf.lffacename[]. Wingdings and some of the
arial work fine.

2) That what I was figuring. Has anyone found away around
this? I am working with some ADA constraints. I will
probably try and catch it at the first modify event

Looks like you have to handle HEM_FONT notification message
to the parent window. In PowerBuilder this is a RTE control
itself.
I didn't have time/patience to follow this thru...
