I am having an issue with some of my DWs that utilize an outer join. These
work well within the PowerBuilder IDE and when I run from the PowerBuilder
IDE as I set the OJSyntax DBParm to 'PB'. My database that I am connecting
to is Sybase ASE 12.5.3.

When running through Appeon, I receive errors that indicate 2 (or more) of
my tables have the same exposed names and to use the correlation names to
distinguish them. I believe this is an issue with the connection cache
settings. How can I fix this issue?

Thank you.

Chuck

Hi Chuck,

The usage in your application, setting the OJSyntax DBParm to 'PB', is
supported well in Appeon. The engineer suspects that the problem is caused
by the erroneous execution of the DataWindow SQL.

Our suggestions are:
1) Check whether the DataWindow SQL is OK. You can copy the DataWindow SQL
statement to PowerBuilder ISQL, and see whether it can be successfully
executed.
2) Check the connection cache settings of the application. Ping the
connection cache that you have assigned for the application in AEM, and if
the pinging is unsuccessful, make sure the connection cache properties are
configured similar to the following:
Servername: jdbc:sybase:Tds:192.0.3.51:2048/master
Username: sa
Driver DLL: com.sybase.jdbc2.jdbc.SybDriver

3) Check whether the transaction object to connection cache mapping in the
application is correct or not. Make sure the database type specified in the
mapping is ASE.

If the problem still exists, please provide the following information to me
so that our engineer can reproduce the problem and investigate it further.

a. A simple test case (with the DataWindow SQL)
b. Reproduction steps, and the error screenshot
c. (With the log mode in AEM as debug), the jaguar.log in %JAGUAR%/bin, and
the log files in %JAGUAR%/bin/appeonlog.

Regards,
Julie
