I tried a example code for EJBClient.

javavm i_jvm
EJBConnection l_ejbconn
i_jvm = create javavm
i_jvm.createJavaVM("", false)

I get two compile errors:
C0001: Illegal data type: ejbconnection
C0052: Bad Argument list for function createJavaVM

I am using PB9.0.1 build 7119.

Thanks,
Joe

Did you include the PBEJBClient90.PBD in your library list?

It is not enough to create the Converter proxy. You need to explicitly
call the constructor of you Java class too. Something like:

...
lEJBConn.CreateJavaInstance(conv, "Converter")
yen.yen() // call the constructor too!!
yen = conv.dollarToYen(100.0)
...

Hope it helps.

REF: "You need to explicitly call the constructor of you Java class too". I've
dabbled in working with EJB's and I've never had to explicitely call the
constructor. When you create the instance object, it should call the
constructor for you.

correct.... the default constructor will be called. If you have a
parameterized constructor that needs to be invoked, then indeed you
have to call it explicitly, since PB syntax cannot handle a parameter
in the constructor.

Andy, thanks for the correction. As Jim points out, since I have to call
the parameterized constructor explicitly, I always assumed the same for
the non-parameterized constructors.
