Hi

I need some information about remote procedure calls because

I have defined a rpc named test_rpc on my test database ASA

when I try to execute the test_rpc, call it from other local
procedure named test

Then I obtain the messaje 706

create procedure test
as
begin
execute test_rpc
end

Regards

Please always post the version and build number of ASA that you are
using (e.g. use the command "dbeng9 -v" for ASA 9.x)

Can you post the exact text of the message you are getting?
Where are you seeing this message (i.e. what application)?

You are likely getting "-706", not "706". -706 is "Remote server does
not have the ability to support this statement".

In the ASA 9.x online docs, see:

ASA SQL User's Guide
Accessing Remote Data
- Troubleshooting remote data access

as well as

ASA Database Administration Guide
Database Options
Alphabetical list of options
- CIS_OPTION option [database]

Hope this helps,

Take a look at the sections of the docs I posted on trouble shooting
Remote Data Access (a.k.a. Remote Servers/Proxy Tables/Remote
Procedures/Omni/etc...)

Please show us all your code to create the server and the remote
procedure definition.

Understand that you must use two separate databases for remote access;
you cannot have everything in one database.
