Hi Newsgroup,

i have a question about the
Not Transactional part in a create table statement.

i try the following statment with a
SQL Anywhere 9.0.2.2551 Version and it Work

create table test (testint integer) not transactional;

The same statement at a 8.0.2.4389 Veersion doen`t work.
Does anybody know if the Not Transactional statement is a new Version 9
Statemebnt or if i have another Error.
If i have to update to Version 9 does i have to update only the Anywhere
Server or does i also have to update all
Clients?

Thanks for your help
Greetings Andi

lease do not crosspost. In addition to causing duplication of effort, it can
create confusion as this post never mentions that this is a temp table
statement. In fact, the example code snipet is to create a base table.

Thanks for the answers. Sorry that my example wasn`t so exactly.
But i have another question:
If i use the upgrade function of the sybase central tool, would there be any
difference to unload and load the database and then update the Version?
That maybe the optimizer or other functionality isn`t updated.

Thanks for your help

Greetings Andi

Upgrade only handles basic schema changes. You will need to unload/reload to
gain access to all of the benefits/features that require file format
changes.

That clause is only valid with TEMPORARY tables. As a result, the current
behaviour in 9.0.2.2551 should be considered incorrect. Testing shows that
9.0.2.3044 does not behave that way.
