The only reference I could find to "XA" was a connection string option when
using the iAnywhere Soutions ODBC Driver for ASE. Is this what you're
asking about?

ODBC Drivers for MobiLink and Remote Data Access
iAnywhere Solutions ODBC Driver for Sybase Adaptive Server Enterprise
Connecting to a data source using a connection string

XAOpenStringParameters (XAOSP) - Specifies trace file names. Use the
syntax -Ltrace_filename, where trace_filename specifies the name of two
trace files that will be created. The first trace file will trace all XA
call activities and will be named exactly as you specified. The second trace
file will contain tracing of any enlistment and unenlistment procedures and
will be named as you specified with a "driver" extension. For example, if
you specify XAtrace as the file name, the driver will create two trace
files-XAtrace and XAtrace.driver.
