Hi,

I'm getting an error -98 when I try to run some stored procedures. The error
is sporadic, sometimes the stored procedure runs fast, sometimes I'm getting
only the error -98.

The server is properly authenticated, the ASA version is 8.0.1.

Thanks!

~Luis

The -98 can only occur if the connection is in fact not authenticated (at
least, based on my experience). You may need to look at a request level log
( -zr SQL) and trace the connection reporting the error to see if it in fact
is authenticated.

I follow up the log as you suggested and effectively the connection is not
authenticated.

Why is this happenning? How can I solve it?

You need to authenticate the connection. Determine where the connection is
coming from and authenticate it prior to calling any statement that could
trigger this error.

The thing is that I'm using ColdFusion to get connected to the database, so
how do I authenticate the connection?

I have not idea how Cold Fusion handles connections but you will need to
ensure that the connection is authenticated. You can authenticate the
connection at any time prior to a code that requires the connection to be
authenticated.
