Im using ASA 9.0.1.1751. I have a table with the folowing
columns:

identfifier - integer
assc_type - smallint
seq_num - integer
table1 - integer
table2 - integer
table3 - integer
rate - double
text - char(25)

I recently added another column to the table (text2 - long
varchar)
to provide for lenghty text descriptions. However when the
character string exceeds 24 characters the string is
truncated by
(I believe) the ASACommand object . The table is updated
through a stored proc in which the command object feeds it
the
parameters.

So basically the column is not accepting any character
string longer than 24 characters (through the .net data
provider) even though it's data type is a long
varchar. However if you feed it a character string greater
than 24
characters through ISQL, the value will be persited and not
truncated.

I also tried changing the text column (originally char(25))
into a
long varchar, I continued having the same problems with
character
strings being truncated.

Do you have any ideas on what the problem might be ?

Thanks
Josh

Can you add a MESSAGE statement to the stored proc to be sure that the
value getting to the stored proc is in fact being truncated there?

Can you show us the code where you set up the command object and pass
the values to it?

I found a stupid mistake with my stored proc. Everything is
fine.

Thanks
