We use ASA version 7.0.0.449

when we run our dbbackup.cmd file the backup takes about 30 - 45 minutes.

Our DB is 7.03GB
our log file is 816MB

is there any way to make this faster?

the cmd line is
d:\cstone\dbbackup -c
"eng=cstone;dbn=cstone;uid=xxxx;pwd=xxxx;commlinks=tcpip" -y d:\idexx

When this is done then Veritas does a backup on the d:\idexx folder where
the DB and Log files are.

This total process takes about 1 hour currently.

I do backups every 2 hours from 9AM - 11PM and the rest of my backups need
to be done after this.

Thank you in advance for all your help

Bill

How long does it take to copy a 7GB file from one machine to another over
your network?

I am not sure what that has to do with this but it only tales about 1 - 2
mins. to copy over the network. I should also state that I can not shut the
DB down to accomplish this task.
