The file function workaround used in the appeon support uses
a handlefile dll that was created using C++. I tried using
the DLL for windows API (kernel32.dll, user32.dll,
comdlg32.dll) to supplant the file functions unsupported by
appeon in powerbuilder. the code works well in powerbuilder
but the deployed web application does not. Has anyone tried
using the windows api dll rather than the case study posted
by the appeon team. Please help.

Muchos Gracias.

You should be able to use "kernel32.dll" to work around copyfile, and
getcurrentdirectory functions using the same way recommended in the
http://www.appeon.net/support/documents/workarounds.htm > PowerScript
Functions > File functions. We are not sure about seachpatha. It is not
a function in PowerBuilder. If you have problem getting the functions
working, please provide the error screenshot and test case to me (you can
send the case directly to my email address).

Just FYI, Appeon 3.0 will directly support all the file functions.

Regards,

Julie

in the file functions workarounds, a table was listed by
appeon regarding the functions to be called on kernel32.dll.
i tried to use some of the other functions but they
returned errors and i was not able to use the functions
correctly.

could u please specify your email address so that i would be
able to send you the test case as well as the errors which i
have encountered.

thanks.
