After collecting a log with the following startline:
dbeng7 -zr sql -xo d:\sql_logging.sql -zs 500000

I get the following error when I run:
call sa_get_request_times ('C:\\test\sql_logging.sql')

Error at line 1
Primary key for table 'satmp_request_time' is not unique.

Is the problem the trimming of the -zs option or the fact I'm using ASA9 to
read a ASA7 log file?

And how big can a log file get before it impacts performance?

As far as I know, the primary key satmp_request_time.req_id is
populated with the log file line number where the request begins, so
it is hard to imagine how it gets duplicated. The procedure truncates
the table each time it is called so two successive calls should not
hurt. However, the internal workings of the procedure are hidden from
us so it may very well have difficulties processing a V7 log file. If
you really want to pursue this, contact Tech Support.

I have successfully run multi-gigabyte log files through the
procedure, including V8 logs via V9 procedure, but not V7 via V9.

Perhaps it got confused at the end of file, where -zs cut it off?

An alternative for you is to run the V9 engine on the V7 database to
gather the log. That is a luxury soon to end (running Vy engines on Vx
databases where y > x)
