This went to support@ianywhere.com

Since that e-mail address is not listed anywhere (sorry for the play on
words) on their web site, I have to post it to the newsgroup.

I think iAnywhere needs to list support e-mail address on their web site.
It's just ridiculous to have people go to the newsgroup for support.

--------------------------- message -------------------------------------
We have a simple SQL statement in one of our stored procedures that shuts
down the server when executed.

We are considering sending the database to you to have you look at it and
find the problem.

We don't have a support plan. What are our options in terms of support, and
how much will it cost us to have you fix the problem? How long will it
take?

Thank you.
===============================
The statement that shuts down the server is

SELECT SUM(Dtl.VchAmount) AS SumAmount, Dtl.TMID, Dtl.S8TmpCheckHeaderID
INTO #t1
FROM S8TmpCheckDetail AS Dtl
GROUP BY Dtl.TMID, Dtl.S8TmpCheckHeaderID

There is no error messages created in the dbsrv9.exe error log, or the
Windows system/application log.

We are using version 9.0.0.2551 on Win32.

With respect to posting e-mail addresses for support, it is our experience
that newsgroups are a much better forum (not at all sorry for the play on
words) for providing a free support alternative to our customer than an
e-mail address. The newsgroups are monitored on a voluntary basis by
members of iAnywhere technical support as well as some iAnywhere developers.
The newsgroups provide a forum in which other customers can also respond to
your queries, which is something that could not happen with a free support
e-mail address. Furthermore, newsgroups postings are archived and
searchable through either the Sybase web site or through Google (
http://groups-beta.google.com/groups/dir?hl=en&lr=&ie=UTF-8&q=sybase.public.sqlanywhere )
, so you can search through previous posts for answers to your questions,
which would also be impossible with an e-mail alias.

Now, let's address your actual problem.

v9.0.0 has been archived and bug fixes are no longer being made on that
branch (see http://www.ianywhere.com/products/supported_platforms.html). At
a minimum, you should test whether your problem still exists using v902
(with the latest EBF). ASA Patches and EBFs can be downloaded by following
the instructions in my footer. Without a support plan, you can always
report a bug for free using CaseXpress. Here's the standard text we post on
how to report a bug for free :

You can always report a bug for free by visiting CaseXpress at
http://casexpress.sybase.com/cx/cx.stm. When submitting calls
through CaseXpress, please make sure to give an accurate description
of the steps you take to reproduce the bug, and include any
files that may be needed (database, source code) to reproduce the
problem.

I am sorry, the build is 9.0.2.2551, not 9.0.0.2551

Then I would suggest opening a call through CaseXpress so we can look at the
database.
