A critical update was made to Win2000 server. After server
was
rebooted the ASA database service started with Database
recovery and with recovery complete.

When a connection is made to the database the following
error
is received: "Connection failed: cannot be started -- ???"

Any options besides going to a backup?

Thanks in advance.

Which version and build number of 6.x (e.g. use the command "dbeng6 -v")?

What is the engine start line?
What is the client's connection string?
Where is that error received?

ASA 6.0.1.1165 is not supported on Windows 2000 Server. To be supported on
Windows 2000 Server you need to be running ASA 6.0.4.3701 or higher. I
suspect these errors will disappear if you upgrade the version and build of
ASA.
