I've an OCX control whose documentation says as below -
To use the AX View control you must first insert the control
into your application
project from the Component Gallery. MFC will generate a
wrapper class for the control
you inserted.
If you use this control in a dialog-based application, you
can put the control into the
dialog template using the resource editor and use it as
normal controls. If you use this
control as an embedded control, you must call the create
member function of the
control’s wrapper class to dynamically create an instance
of the control.
The create member function has the following parameters:
• lpszWindowName -- A pointer to the text to be displayed
in the control's Text or
Caption property (if any).
• dwStyle -- Windows styles; for a complete list, see
CWnd::CreateControl.
• rect -- Specifies the control's size and position.
• pParentWnd -- Specifies the control's parent window,
usually a CDialog. It must
not be NULL.
• nID -- Specifies the control ID and can be used by the
container to refer to the
control.
When you open the AexView control, you need to also open an
annotation file or
nothing will happen.

I'm not able to make sense of above descriptions. Can
someone please explain what it means for me in PowerBuilder?
Thanks in advance.

Hi

Ifr you have not registered the OCX, hence you need to register using either
the command regsrv32.exe or the option "register new" in PowerBuilder when
you try to insert the Ole object in a window or Visual Object.

Sometimes, if the OCX comes with another product, the OCX is registered when
this product is installed.

Thanks

Ricci

Did you register the control successfully? Also, there may be a license file
that belongs with the OCX control that you are missing.
