Hello,

I'm doing my first steps with M-Business Anywhere but I can't get any app to
run.
On both the PDA and my notebook I get the following erroro when I try to
sync any group channel

Warning: Database pod "...." is NULL

What could I do ?

Locally on the server I can view the correct page, but I always receive this
message on any tye of device

Thanks

Thomas

Hi Thomas,

can you answer some further queries:

MBiz version number?

are you using an UltraLite database? or the MBiz Database channels?

do you have the required PODS on the device in the \pods directory?

do you have a code snippet of the Javascript that shows your connection to
the database?

thanks

tony

Hi Thomas,

thanks for the info.

okay, the web pages that you are using to access the database requires
Javascript code to read the data.

Can you supply the contents of the web pages, as it looks like you're
missing some Javascript code.

Also, you would have setup a Group channel to download the web channel (by
inserting a URL) and you would have had to enter an entry for the Databases
to send to the device (2 URLs, one being an XML and the other being an XSD
reference)

Can you supply the entries that you have for these?

thanks

tony

The Problem occur already when I try to make the first steps from the
turorial
Quick Start Guide
Unwired Accelerator 7.0

Document ID: DC00184-01-0700-01

Last revised: May 2005

Everything works as written in this PDF, except the last step - viewing the
currency table on my device.
This doesn't work on my notebook, nor on my pocket PC.

We have the same behavior on two different PCs and on wto PocketPCs.

Could this be a language-problem ?
We are germans with an german windows.

in the directory C:\Programme\AvantGo\Pods there are 4 DLLs and in the
directory C:\Programme\AvantGo\Databases are many subdirectories called
"AGCapsMTA3Mzc0MTgyNg" or similar.

I don't have anything to do with XML or XSD, I just want the simpliest
tutorial to work...

What can I do next ?

ah... okay, so you are not using MBiz Server for web application
development, but another product.

Then you should really post your query to the following newsgroup:

sybase.public.unwired_accelerator

that newsgroup is focused purely on Unwired Accelerator and you would
probably get a more focused response to your query.

hth

thanks

Hello Tony,

the errors don't arrise in the unwired_acc... but in the M-Business-Client.
So I think I'm here in the right group.
In the M-Business-Server, I can see my Channel (Web-based DBGrid), but this
grid isn't synchronised onto any device.

So what I try next ?

Thomas

Unwired Accelerator uses mBus as its delivery mechanism of its "mobile
apps". It sounds like the grid channel isn't properly subscribed to by
your mobile users. Can you log into the mBus admin server and check the
user's group and channel configurations?

Thomas,

The first place you should look is the sync log. If you look at the sync
log for the user in M-Business Anywhere, there are probably some errors like
"Page not found" or Database error. Can you post that to the group?

Thanks,

Chris...

I'm very new with this product, so I can't answer all your questions.
The MBiz-Version is 5.7 b1018
The pods on my PPC in the directory \Programme\AvantGo\Pods are
dbpod_quad.dll
jspod.dll
mimedtpicker.dll
mimelist.dll

Which pods are "required" ?
What is a "pod" ?

Where do I find the requested code-snippet ?

Thanks

Thomas
