Hi

You can assign a blob to a picture object outside the datawindow using the
function setpicture(). This function is available for only picture controls.

However, if you have a blob column in the table, then you are able to use a
OLE object into the datawindow.

To assign a picture to a datawindow picture control, you'll need to
write it out to a temporary file and then assign that file to the
control. Fortunately, you can delete the temporary file at that
point. Once the datawindow has read it, it doesn't refer to it again.

Thanks to both Bruce and Ricci.

My support has informed that OLE database blob works (on all
editions of PB7 and upwards) only if the db updation has
been the OLE db update. I am updating the database image
table by reading a series of jpg files and then using the
updateblob. So in the case OLE db blob doesn't work.

So, What happens if the picture has to vary depending upon
the row id? In case the the blob is read into the file and
the picture object be assigned to this temp file, then all
rows will contain the picture of the row last read. Is there
an equivalent of the bmp computed expression which can be
used in the script ?

Thanks in advance.
