I have a call to obtain the data in a datawindow:
ls_dwdata = adw_dw.Object.Datawindow.Data

The resulting ls_dwdata string comes up empty on the web but is successful
in the client / server app. The help file indicates this is supported.

Is this a bug or is there a workaround?

Thanks

Chuck

The Data property of DataWindow is supported in Appeon 3.0.  We suggest you use the Evaluate function on adw_dw before the dot notation, or to retrieve data into adw_dw, to check whether the DataWindow is passed successfully or not.

Or the problem can be caused by some unsupported feature in the code.  Please do a careful checking.

I put a messagebox in after the ls_dwdata = adw_dw.object.datawindow.data.  In the client application, it shows the tab-separated list describing the data in the DataWindow object.  However, after deploying to Appeon, the messagebox displayed nothing for the message itself.  One other thing -- we are running this code while in querymode (if that makes a difference).

//Check to see if we are in query mode
IF adw_dw.Object.DataWindow.QueryMode = "yes" THEN

    //Get data displayed in dw as string of tab-delimited fields
    ls_dwdata = adw_dw.Object.Datawindow.Data

    MessageBox("TESTING", ls_dwdata);

Thanks

Hi Chuck,

In Appeon 3.0, the QueryMode and Data property are supported well.   We cannot reproduce the problem according to your description.

Can you reproduce the error in a simplified test case?  If so, you can give the test case to the tech support for analysis.  You may also require your tech support to provide the case to Appeon tech support for assistance.

Regards,
Julie
