HI, I have some problems to configure the connection cache in the EA Server. I'm
using SQL Server with a data base named rhu55_demo, my machine names scubillo,
have this ip: 128.0.2.150, I also successfully deploy an application named
"general" with appeon 3.0 Xcelerator, there is no problems all of the 3 steps,
completely done 100% with no errors and when I press the finish and run button,
shows the The page cannot be found!!! in the internet explorer, I also try with
the tutor and examples, I successfully run the sales_application_demoAX, with
the sames steps and this works perfect, so I belive isn't the browser
configuration or some error with the general configuration.
I unable to ping the connection cache for my application, using a native SQL
Driver, this are the steps I has followed:

1. I copy the msbase.jar mssqlserver.jar msutil.jar in the $jaguar&/java/lib
directory.
2.Create a new connection cache with this parameters:
connection cache name: general
Data Base Type: SQL_Server
Server Name: jdbc:microsoft:sqlserver://128.0.2.150:9988;DatabaseName=rhu55_demo
User Name: sa
Data Base Driver Type: JDBC
DLL or Class Name: com.microsoft.jdbc.sqlserver.SQLServerDriver
I followed exactly like in the appeon_migration_guide.pdf 7.2.7 Setting up
connection cache for Microsoft SQL Server
--------------At this point, ping unseccessful------------------------------
Main Exception error: Connection cache for server
jdbc:microsoft:sqlserver://128.0.2.150:9988;DatabaseName=rhu55_demo does not
exist.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
3. I also tried all posible combinations with other computer name and port, like
localhost, scubillo, 128.0.2.150 with these ports 8080,9000,9001,9988,9989, and
doesn't work, same error

PLEASE HELP. I don't know if this causes that my application general does run in
the web browser, but the connection cache is not working. any ideas??

The error should probably be caused by using a wrong port to connect to SQL Server database.

To solve it please follow the steps:
1. Restart the EAServer to make sure the SQL Server driver is loaded successfully.
2. Since 1433 is the default port for SQL Server, please verify 1433 is unused and specify the port number in the Server Name parameter to 1433. For example, "jdbc:microsoft:sqlserver://128.0.2.150:1433;DatabaseName=rhu55_demo".
3. Click the Refresh button.
4. Click the Ping button.

If the problem is still there, please provide with jaguar.log at %jaguar%/bin. %JAGUAR% indicates the installation path of the EAServer that hosts Appeon Server.

Regards
Sally

Hi, thanks sally, I set the port to 1433, but there is still problems, with this
new exception:
com.sybase.jaguar.util.JException: [Microsoft][SQLServer 2000 Driver for
JDBC]Error establishing socket.

I don't know exactly how to know if the 1433 port is unused, what can i do??

Hi Cubillo,

The exception is caused by an MSSQLServer bug, you have to install the MSSQLServer SP3 patch to fix it.

You can check whether the 1433 port is used by the Active Ports software (a third-party software).

Regards
Sally
