I am having trouble doing an INSERTDOCUMENT on an RTF
control. If the file is created through WORD (2002) it
brings in the document but looses all of the formatting even
though the format type is specified as FileTypeRichText! .

If the document was created from the RTF control using the
SAVEDOCUMENT function then it works fine.

Does anyone know the solution to this problem.

Try using an external RTF control such as from www.subsystems.com or
www.textedit.com. These controls support up to date RTF functionality. The
PB RTF control will be upgraded soon but the current version supports only
older RTF specs.

The second link should have been http://www.textcontrol.com/.

The RTF control coming in PB 10.5 The one in any previous version of
PB only supports RTF version 1.2 or so, and Word 2002 save out a much
later version.
