I have a datawindow with a dddw item that requires retrieval arguments. How
would I accomplish this using the appeon enhancements
(appeondatawindow/appeondatastore)?

Hi Kristi,

Which Appeon version are you using?  Still the Pure-JavaScript deployment method?

Note the following when you have DropDownDataWindows with retrieval arguments: (1) If a distributed application contains DropDownDataWindows inherited from appeondatawindow and appeondatastore in the Appeon Workaround PBL appeon_workarounds_ax.pbl, the DataObjects of the DropDownDataWindows must exist on both the server and the client, otherwise, the data may not display.  ---This issue will be fixed in Appeon 3.1. (2) (Appeon engineer's test shows) If the DropDownDataWindow contains retrieval arguments, the DDDW displays the actual value but not display value.  This is the same behavior in both PowerBuilder and on the Web.  It may be a limitation with PowerBuilder NVO.

Therefore, we do recommend that you avoid using retrieval arguments with DDDWs.  Instead, you can add retrieval criteria in GetSQLSelect/SetSQLSelect, or in the SQL statement of the DataWindow.

Regards,
Julie

Thank you for your input, Julie. I am using Pure-JavaScript version 2.8.
