HI, I got problems with the Windows Registry, I know that is actualy supported,
but isn't working for me.

I read in the manual:
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
-
Web applications cannot use RegistryGet and RegistryValues for accessing the
Windows
registry directly. The Registry functions are implemented as workarounds. They
do not read
from the actual Windows registry. Instead, Appeon creates a mock registry in the
Appeon
Server database, which initially has no values. Therefore, you must first set a
value using the
RegistrySet function before trying to use RegistryGet and RegistryValues
functions.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
-

but when I use this code, nothing happend

RegistryGet( "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Wizdom", "Home", RegString!,
"C:\Wizdom6")

In the registry nothing is created, what could happend, how I can use the
windows registry in my application??

Thanks

Hi Sebastian,

Make sure you set the C:\Wizdom6 value in the Windows registry before using the RegistryGet function. As in the manual, our RegistrySet and RegistryGet does not work on your actual Windows registry.  Instead, RegistrySet is to set the registry value in the Appeon Server database, and then RegistryGet gets the value set by RegistrySet from the Appeon Server database.  So of course you cannot see any change to the registry. For example, the following code will work well in Appeon:

string ls_path
RegistrySet( "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Wizdom", "Home", RegString!, "C:\Wizdom6")
RegistryGet( "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Wizdom", "Home", RegString!, ls_path)
messagebox("path", ls_path)

If you really want to interact with the registry at the client, you can achieve it by calling to some external function (such as Windows API advapi32.dll) that interacts with the Registry.  This should work with Appeon 3.0.

Regards
Julie

The Appeon registry copy is stored in the Appeon Server private database -- AppeonDB.  This AppeonDB is a security database and cannot be directly accessed.  If a registry value is stored into the database, you can only edit it via the RegistryDelete, RegistryGet, RegistrySet, RegistryValues functions.
