Hi all,

I have bought this book:
Advantage Database Server - "The Official Guide"

It has the file int_nt.exe on the included cd.

I want to install this in "Local Server" mode but it is asking me for a
Serial Number and License Code (2 numbers). Do these numbers come with the
book? Are there "default" numbers that can be used for Local Server?

Thanks!

Kim@accidental.com.au

Hi Kim,

If you want to use local server just install whatever client software you
intend to use that install contains the local server DLL.

Sorry,

Are you referring to the file "ACEAPI.exe"?

Using Advantage Data Architect I am having trouble connecting to the
database (for SQL queries - I can open tables using an Alias pointed at the
local hard disk).

Thanks,

Kim

Hi Kim,

While the ACEAPI.exe will install local server for you, all of the other
installs with the exception of JDBC will also install the necessary file.
What is the error you are getting back when trying to do the SQL?
