Hi All,

We have recently rolled out some new code and are finding
that not all users are getting some of our latest .js files.
I have tried clearing the users cache on the MBusiness
server and getting them to resync, but this doesn't seem to
fix the issue. The only thing we have found that seems to
ensure that the PDA gets the latest .js code is by;
1) "touching" the js file (essentially just adjusting its
modification time.
2) clearing the cache on the MBusiness server
3) getting the user to refresh all content at next sync.

Is there anyway we can mimic the "Refresh all content at
next sync" (from Tools -> Server Options -> Properties),
programatically? That way we could just force this to happen
when they go into the main page and on their next sync they
will hopefully get the latest js files.

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks,
Chris

in the conf directory run asa_sql (its a .bat file if you are on windows and
issue the following command

UPDATE SYNCUSER SET nonce = "0000000000000000"

it will force a slow sync for all users.

Hi Enrico,

Thanks for the response. That is on the server though right?
There are only a handful of users we want to do a full
(slow) sync. They are all located in a particular group.
Ideally, we would like to do it from the client side as I
presume what you have suggested is similar to clearing all
cookies, cache etc for a given user on the server. Feel free
to correct me if I am wrong on that assumption too.

Is there a way on the client side (maybe via some PODS
element or something), that allows me to do the same as
having the "Refresh All Content at next sync" ?

Thanks,
Chris

Not to be a wiseacre, but clicking on "refresh all" IS the client side way
to do it.

However if you wanted to make everyone in a group named "group" slow
sync....

UPDATE SYNCUSER SET nonce = '0000000000000000' WHERE fk_aguser = (SELECT
fk_aguser FROM AGGROUPUSER as gu, AGUSER as u, AGGROUP as g WHERE
g.name='group' AND g.id = gu.fk_aggroup AND gu.fk_aguser=u.id AND
u.deleted=0)

Chris,

You have programmatic control over this and many of the other device
preference settings via the Preferences object in JavaScript.

Hi,

I think you force to reload all the channels with the following
javascript code :

avantgo.resetChannels();
avantgo.beginSync();
