Dear Sir/Madam,

I am using Appeon 3.1 and PowerBuilder 10.2.0 Build 8050. I tried to use
JDBC driver for SQL Server. However, it cannot connect. The setting is as
follows.

Server Name: jdbc:microsoft:sqlserver://localhost:1433

Class Name:
com.microsoft.jdbc.sqlserver.SQLServerDriver

Thanks

Hi roywong,

Firstly of all, please ensure that the JDBC driver files are copied to the directory..Sybase\EAServer\java\lib in the Appeon Server computer. As for MSSQL database, the driver files are msbase.jar, mssqlserver.jar, msutil.jar.

Then take the following as reference to revise the previous configurations. For detail information, please refer to the section 7: DataBase Connection Setup in the Appeon Migration Guide.

Step 1- In the General tab page.

The Server Name parameter should be configured with the following syntax: jdbc:microsoft:sqlserver://ip:port;DtabaseName=dbname;SelectMethod=cursor
(e.g.: jdbc:microsoft:sqlserver://192.0.0.94:1433;DatabaseName=appeon;SelectMethod=cursor)

Step 2 - In the Drive tab page. The DLL or Class Name parameter should be: com.microsoft.jdbc.sqlserver.SQLServerDriver

Step 3 - Right click the connection cache and select the Ping item to ensure the connection is set up successfully.

Regards

Sally Li
