I've read that future versions of PB (11 & 12) will allows us to develop .NET
applications. Won't that cannibalize the Appeon product? (Which I know isn't a
true Sybase product.) I don't have an urgent, web project to deliver, but I
have some that would be nice to get on the web. I'm trying to understand why I
should spend thousands of dollars to purchase Appeon when I can wait a year or
two and just get the regular PB upgrades and develop for the web? Any ideas on
how these two products will play out in the next few years?

Tough question to answer. This is my opinion.Appeon is a product on the
market today and it works. PB.NET is not on the market. So if you need a
solution now Appeon is an excellent choice. Second Appeon took several
release before the product was really ready for production. I would assume
Sybase PB.NET will take a while to mature to be as robust as Appeon. Once
PB.NET is released and matured, you will have basically the same solution in
a different technology (NET and J2EE). Because of the constant changing web
development world it is difficult to know if PB.NET will be adopted.
