I have a problem using submitNoResponse() to submit a form in 6.0.

I have a project I am migrating from 5.7 to 6.0. In 5.7 I could reference
the form object in javascript and invoke the submitNoResponse() function -
particularly useful after performing form validation. However, this code
(unchanged) causes the 6.0 client to crash. I have done some testing and
found that the submitNoResponse() only works when implemented on the onclick
event of a button in the form. Has anyone else experienced this issue? I
need to maintain form validation before the form is submitted. I would
normally use the onsubmit event of the form to trigger validation, however
the button onclick event fires first so this does not work.

I am using M-Business 6.0 b390 and M-Business PPC Client b3024.

Sample code:

<html>
<head>
<title>test</title>
<meta name="HandheldFriendly" content="True">
<meta name="AvantGoRequiresJS" content="True">
</head>
<body>

<form id="myForm" name="myForm" action="myForm.asp" method="post">

First Name:<br>
<input type="text" id="Firstname" name="Firstname" size="13"
maxlength="50"><br>

Surname:<br>
<input type="text" id="Surname" name="Surname" size="13" maxlength="50"><br>

<!-- this works -->
<input type="button" name="submit" value="submit"
onclick="document.getElementById('myForm').submitNoResponse('form will be
submitted next time you sync.', true, true);"><br>

<!-- this fails -->
<a onclick="doSubmit();">Submit</a>

</form>

<script language="javascript">

function doSubmit() {
// validation code goes here
document.getElementById('myForm').submitNoResponse('form will be submitted
next time you sync.', true, true);
}
</script>

</body>
</html>

Sounds like you have a reproducible. I recommend you open a case with
iAnywhere Technical Support. You can submit your case either directly
with your tech support contact or via CaseXpress
(http://case-express.sybase.com/)
