When I attempt to run my appeon application in Internet
Explorer, I get a box with a red x in the middle of the
page. There is nothing wrong with the Appeon application
itself, as it works perfectly locally and on our development
server. Upon deploying it to our production server, I ran
into this problem.

Initially I simply copied the package and connection cache
from development to production. I then installed
(non-default) the package on production and peformed the
same steps I had done when installed on development. I then
linked the two in Appeon Manager (AEM) and refreshed Jaguar.
When that didn't work, I tried doing a package deploy
directly from local powerbuilder to production server, in
order to eliminate any possible server specific items during
deployment. Still not working!

I've checked the appeon log files but they weren't much
help. I've also gone through the install testing steps from
the Appeon 3.1 Install Guide. So ASInterface directories
check out and AEM works fine. However, I was unable to test
the sample apps because they have all been removed. This is
one difference between development server and production.
This shouldn't matter, should it? I did notice the following
error messsage in the Jaguar.log on production (Note:
license_inquiry is not the app. I am trying to get working,
although it isn't working either, I have a simpler app.
[spse_inquiry] that does not involve components that I would
like to get working first)...

The main differences I can think of between development
appeon and production appeon are, on our production box...

1. Samples have been removed
2. AEM Username/Password are not set to default
3. Our intranet is in the default html directory with appeon
stuff

Any ideas?

Hi Zack,

The error may be caused by the improper package installation and incorrect configuration of the connection cache.
Therefore I suggest you do the following on the production server
1. Reconfigure the connection cache in Jaguar Manager on the production server and make sure the connection is successful. You 'd better not use the copied connection cache settings.
2. Go through all steps described in the Packaging and Installing Web Application section in the Appeon Developer User Guild.

If the problem is still there please provide with:
1. Error screenshot (I need to see the displaying content with the Red X).
2. the cachename.props file both on the development and production server.
3. Jaguar.log file at the %JAGUAR%\Bin directory and (with AEM setting to log on mode) all file in the %JAGUAR%\appeon\log.
4. The version of Appeon and EAServer.

Regards
Sally Li
