Hi, I downloaded and installed the Trial. I have it all
working accept that I can not (do not have the option) to
install a PC Client. It only allows options for Various
PDAs.. I think this is a Lic. issue however I am using the
one they emailed.. I see the option to check "PC" in
profiles however, when I do, it errors and tells me that you
can not select an option without sub-options (something like
this) - but there is no sub-anything.. So, I can install PDA
Clients no problem - but not associate a PC due to the fact
that I can not select nor install the PC client portion..
Ideas??

Rod:

Can you give an idea of what you are looking to do with the PC client? Are
you looking for an alternative for getting your Exchange data into Outlook,
or are you looking to get your Domino data into Outlook on your PC?

You are correct that this is a licensing issue - - the PC Client is not part
of the standard Pylon Anywhere evaluation.

If you are looking to evaluate the PC Client, please send an email to
contact_us@ianywhere.com

Thanks..

Matt..

Matt,

I am using an Oulook Client on a Desktop that connects to
Exhcange. In order for me to use this, I need the PC Client
installed on the Desktop (I can not direct connect to
exchange - IT dept. will not allow me to) ... Desktop
Client Sync's with Phone client etc.. So do I need a
special Lic. Key to do this?

Also - what is the relationship with Intellisync Mobile
product?

Rod:

The PC Client does not provide the functionality you are looking for.
Please confirm that you are trying to get your email, contacts, etc. from
Exchange to your mobile device without going through IT. If so, this is not
how Pylon Anywhere works - - you would still need IT to install and maintain
the Pylon Anywhere server. Mobile devices running Pylon Anywhere always
connect directly to the Pylon Anywhere server - - not to anything running on
your desktop. So, you will want to have IT install the Pylon Anywhere server
and make it available from the Internet if you want to synchronize your
Exchange email and PIM to your device wirelessly.

Matt, Keep in mind that this is a Trial - I am Trialing this
software. I have no issue once I have written my final
recomendation - doing whatever I have to do politically in
order to put this in to production but at this point, I have
a seperate Exchage Server for trial purposes, I had Pylon
Anywhere on another win2000 server, I have an outlook client
on a desktop, I had Pylon Client with Outlook Sync working
and syncing to/from my PPC Phone. This was all working
great. THEN - given that we use Win2003 OS (and Pylon
supports this - I re-installed the Pylon Software on the
2003 Server OS for testing. Since then, (using the very same
key) I can no longer install any form of Pylon PC Client
Software (The Pylon Server does not even offer it) - While
on the Win2000 OS, I could without any problem and it was
all working just fine...

What gives?

Rod:

Please send me an email with the original license email text you received.
The email would have listed what products are enabled by the key, and the
company name so I can cross reference.

Thanks..
