i have SQL Anywhere Studio 8.0 and since two weekends more
or less we have detected that some clients produce this
error anf after this the connection between server and
client closes:

2006-04-05 08:38:43.000 Disconnected TCPIP client's AppInfo:
HOST=JV-CUIXERES;OS=Windows XP (Service Pack
2);PID=0x8bc;THREAD=0x8c0;EXE=C:\transp\transpor.exe;VERSION=8.0.0.2213;
API=ODBC;TIMEZONEADJUSTMENT=120

2006-04-05 08:38:43.000 Connection terminated abnormally;
client socket shut down

The appilcation is developed with PowerBuilder 10.0.
If anybody knows somethig please help me, I'm trying to
solve it but I can't find the solution.

One possible explanation would be a network outage. Note that you have the
sequence backwards, the client isn't reporting this error and then losing
the connection, rather the client is reporting this error *because* the
connection was lost.

Hi again, I think that the cause of the problem is the
application because recently I made a migration from PW6.5
to PW10.0, since this change all went to go bad.
In some cases when a user makes a query from the client
application the app is blocked and in the log that I have
activated in the ODBC I can see this:

16:50:51 [ 243] The number of prefetch rows has been
reduced to 28 due to the prefetch buffer
16:50:51 [ 243] limit. Consider using the PrefetchBuffer
connection parameter.

Maybe this could be the reason of the failure? I have
changed this parameters in the ODBC connection to
prows=10000;pbuf=16384. But the problem persists and now I'm
lost, maybe it's a problem of the code in PW??

Please help me, Miguel Angel.

Have you upgraded to PB 10.2.1? That's probably a good idea. You can
download it from my.sybase.com

Also, try asking your question on one of the PowerBuilder newsgroups;
e.g.: sybase.public.powerbuilder.connectivity or
sybase.public.powerbuilder.general
