I can't find the "sydaase.dll" on my machine either. Can you explain what

That is the name of a DLL used by the ASE OLEDB.
We would not install that as part of the SQL Anywhere
installation.

You should probably repost this question to a Sybase
ASE-connectivity-focussed newsgroup like:

sybase.public.connectivity.oledb

If what you need is oledb for ASA 8 then the DLLs
should all be in the %ASANY8%\win32 directory
... with names like

dboledb8.dll

and such.

Hi Robert,

Nick is correct - this is the OEM Sybase ASE OLE DB Provider, found under
%SYBASE%\oledb. You can get this if you install the PC Client
from ASE 12.5.3 OR if you have license for the Sybase ASE SDK (clients for
windows) version 12.5.1, or as I refer , SDK 12.5.1. However,
SDK 15.0 is no longer distributing this product and instead has ASE OLE DB
Provider by Sybase, sybdrvoledb.dll, found in %SYBASE%\DataAccess\OLEDB\dll.
