When I double click the datawindow object to edit it,
instead I get a
CDT, with the message "The instruction at "0x116490c4"
referenced memory at "0x00000000". The memory could not be
"written".

Selecting CANCEL to go to the debugger says "Unhandled
exception in pb90.exe (PBDWE90.DLL): 0xC0000005: Access
Violation.

This fails only on one server, not on others, which leads me
to believe that it may be a system issue, but I'm looking
for additional ideas or information.

Did you try resetting the layout of the datawindow painter? Can you
create a new datawindow in the painter?

If you can't get into the DW painter at all, then delete the registry value:

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Sybase\PowerBuilder\9.0\Layout\Default]
"Datawindow"=""

PB will rebuild it automatically.
