I develop in Delphi6 and will be upgrading to Delphi2006 Enterprise and I'm
looking for some direction to get a small DB application onto windows CE
type computer. The CEs won't have a wireless internet connection but the
data would be uploaded to the server when the device is placed into its
cradle. Will DotNet and ADS help me crack this nut? If not, what other
tools do I still need?

Jim

no. ADS DLLs cannot be loaded on Windows CE.

This is just a thought that I would like to share with pocket PC app
developers. The Ultramobile PC is increasingly coming into the market. You
can port your desktop application without worrying about conversion. My
wife, who is in the healthcare industry, have seen pharmaceutical reps
carrying these UMPCs with total integration into their workbase. The good
news is they are coming down in price e.g. samsung's Q1, the eos, etc (see
http://umpc.com)

In the field of Medical Informatics, I just installed a desktop app directly
into an OQO and it ran just like a desktop with ease.

So for now, I have ceased developing CE applications.

We have same situation,
What we did that we used a terminal server and got sevral thin clients who
act like Desktop PCs these mobile thin clients (like tablet pc) are
connected to terminal server via wireless network. So in our situation users
can order merchendise on-line walking around our warehouses and stores. So
far it is success story.
Give it a thought.
