Probably, this question has been answered before. I tried to
search but the answers were locked.

Is it possible to create, on runtime, a visual user object
inside a userobject?
OpenUserObject works fine on windows but there is not
something similar on userobjects.

If powerscript does not support this, is there any
workaround for this problem?

just a guess: can you use a placeholder-userobject that remains empty
until the openuserobject has been created (and assigned to the
placeholder)

what is it exactly you want to achieve? why isn't it enough to be able
to open it within a window?

The only way to dynamically open a user object is with the WINDOW
function OpenUserObject[WithParm](). After that, you have to use the
SetParent API to make it "belong to" the user object. Try Googling for
that API...

That would be a nice enhancement to PB though to handle that natively.

No. It’s not enough!

I want to make “something” that will contain several
user objects of the same type. I want to dynamically create
these objects because I want the user to define how many
would be and how they will appear.

Now, I want to be able to place that something inside a
window.. or different kind of windows or.. another
userobject!

I don’t know if I made my self clear on what I really want
to archive.
By your answers I understand that it’s not possible.

I wonder why is so hard to put an object (inside an object)
on design time and not on runtime.

About the idea your propose (the placeholder). Can you give
a bit more details on what u mean?

ok ok, Jason's response should get you where you want: "The only way to
dynamically open a user object is with the WINDOW function
OpenUserObject[WithParm](). After that, you have to use the SetParent
API to make it "belong to" the user object. Try Googling for that
API..."

at least you can simulate it being created on the parent userobject.
you'll need to add it to the control array of that "parent" userobject
and maybe mimic some stuff in order make it to behave exactly as it were
done at designtime. you could have a look at tabpages "createOnDemand"
logic and the "OpenTabWithParm".

Good luck,

Ben

Yes. Locked

I tried to search using openUserObject keyword. And the
first result seems to be exactly what I wanted but.. it has
a lock next to it.
It’s a solved case.

But you didn't seen any newsgroup messages that were locked, correct?
Your reference to "this question being answered before" implied that
it was newsgroups you were searching and consequently the newsgroup
response that was "locked".
