Can I force dbsrv50 to listen at a TCP port ???
It only wants to listen at UDP port !!!

My parameters:

-n COPTSRV
-x tcpip
-c64M
c:\vg2000\Db\Copt.db -n copt

I've also tried with -x tcpip{myip=liviana;port=yyyy}
where liviana is my server host (my local machine too)
and yyyy is an arbitrary port.

SQL Anywhere 5.x only supported UDP despite the fact that it was referenced
in the documentation as TCP.

No you can't. v5 used an older packet style communication based on UDP. v6
and later use, what is now more conventional, TCP stream I/O
