Hi All,

I plan to develop a multi-lingual application in PB 10.5
with Oracle 9i.

In a datawindow object two columns font is set as "Tahoma".
when I type after selecting appropriate language in the task
bar, the same language text appears in the column.

But if I store the information in the db and retrieve it
later it appears differently.

In the below code, first message box appears in Arabi. But
the second one (after retrieved from db) appears with
un-readable characters.

For the table definition I use NVARCHAR2.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------
string ls_arab

transaction ltr_t
ltr_t = create transaction

ltr_t.DBMS = "O90 Oracle9i (9.0.1)"
ltr_t.LogPass = 'mandavi'
ltr_t.ServerName = "mandavi"
ltr_t.LogId = "mandavi"
ltr_t.AutoCommit = False
ltr_t.DBParm = "UTF8=1"

connect using ltr_t;

if ltr_t.sqlcode <> 0 then
messagebox("Test", sqlca.sqlerrtext)
end if

ls_arab = ' íÓÈááÝËíí'

messagebox("Test", ls_arab)

delete from lang where langid='101' using ltr_t;

if ltr_t.sqlcode <> 0 then
messagebox("Test", sqlca.sqlerrtext)
end if

insert into lang values('101',:ls_arab, 'tamil') using
ltr_t;

commit using ltr_t;

if ltr_t.sqlcode <> 0 then
messagebox("Test", sqlca.sqlerrtext)
end if

select arab into :ls_arab from lang where langid='101'
using ltr_t;

if ltr_t.sqlcode = -1 then
messagebox("Test", sqlca.sqlerrtext)
end if

messagebox("Test", ls_arab) //retrieved information

---------------------------------------------------------------------
Thanks in advance
