We have Anti-Virus support thru chat messenger. Any bug or help or upgrades
related to products, we can just paste it thru chat and we get instant
feedback. This kind of support helps in building strong relationship between
company and the customer.

How it would be if Sybase starts chat service for ASE Products?
(Technical/Pre Sales/Post Sales/Product Info)

Good idea but there are a few issues that would have to be worked out:

1) which chat network? IRC, MS Messenger, Yahoo Messenger, etc.
2) security. Most corporations don't allow chat clients due to security
concerns.

there are other concerns but I do like the idea. :)

I understand the concerns related to security. If Sybase starts providing
online chat support (Yahoo/MSN) or a sort of chat thru browser (Sybase.com)
firms will ensure their firewalls/checkpoints to allow these applications.

With chat end customers will get the maximum benefit and Sybase also
benefits from a good market share (Win-Win Situation). Sybase is having
rock-solid products no doubt.. only area where customers are concerned is
Support & Marketing.

I have no idea about M$, ORACLE or SUN etc having this kind of support... If
Sybase starts of with this, it will be a good one (I'm not a marketing guy
:) )
