Use the DWsyntax tool

<DW Control Name>.Describe("DataWindow.Column.Count")
<DW Control Name>.Object.DataWindow.Column.Count

you cant then get the name ( or other attributes )

for x = 1 to count
ls_name = dw.describe("#"+String(x)+".name")
