hello,
i'm using sql anywhere 5.0, and i'm getting some
problems using the >># command for appending to a file with
the lotus format. The append works well for text file, but
however when switching to the "Lotus" format, it simply
won't append.

I have tried using the OUTPUT TO command , but it seems that
the APPEND function for sql anywhere 5.0 version does not
exist.

If anyone could help me.

thnaks

The >> thing is for text only.

I don't know of *any* product supports the notion of "append" to a
spreadsheet; what do you want it to do? Add columns? Add rows? Add a
new sheet in a workbook?

You can use remote data access (proxy tables) to update spreadsheets,
but I think you will have to upgrade. V5 is many years old.
