Hello there!

I'm deploying an app to appeon, this application uses a dynamic transaction
object to connect itself to different data bases. When running, Appeon shows
a message telling me that I must declare this object, but this means that I
need to declare a TO for each connection. Is there some way to dynamically
declare (or to use) this objects? Please Help!

Ricardo Alba.

Hi, Ricardo,

You may change the connection cache to dynamicly connect to different
database.

SQLCA.DBMS = 'MSS'
Choose Case index
Case 1
SQLCA.DBParm="CacheName='dynastys_dys'"
Case 2
SQLCA.DBParm="CacheName='dynastys_dhk'"
Case 3
SQLCA.DBParm="CacheName='dynastys_dym'"
End Choose

sqlca.of_DisConnect()
sqlca.of_Connect()

Best Regards,
JX

Hi Ricardo,

Yes, you can. On the EA server, you can setup connect cache to different
server.

For Example, you can setup below connect caches:

1. connect_db1:
jdbc:Microsoft:sqlserver://server1:1433;DatabaseName=db1;SelectMethod=cursor
2. connect_db2:
jdbc:Microsoft:sqlserver://server2:1433;DatabaseName=db2;SelectMethod=cursor
2. connect_db3:
jdbc:Microsoft:sqlserver://server3:1433;DatabaseName=db3;SelectMethod=cursor

Then you can program as follow:

SQLCA.DBMS = 'MSS'

> Choose Case index
> Case 1
> SQLCA.DBParm="CacheName='connect_db1'"
> Case 2
> SQLCA.DBParm="CacheName='connect_db2'"
> Case 3
> SQLCA.DBParm="CacheName='connect_db3'"
> End Choose
>
> sqlca.of_DisConnect()
> sqlca.of_Connect()

You are using one transaction object SQLCA while you can dynamically connect
to different DB even on different server.

BTW, I am using MS SQL2000 too. Hope this will help you.

Best Regards,
JX
