Hi All,

We have client who is using Pylon Anywhere and MBusiness Client in the PDA,
For MBusiness Client
if the connectivity is not there, like for example if there is no GPRS
connection, MBiz Client will not automatically
try to invoke the connection.

Where as in Pylon will initiate a connection with GPRS, Can this be achieved
with MBusiness Client also..

Thanks ,

Ashok.N.M

What version of MBusiness Anywhere are you using and which OS are you using
the client on ie. PPC 2003, Windows Mobile 5, Smartphone ?

AFAIK, MBusiness Client cannot initiate GPRS connection on its own, although
I have not tried it in the latest version (ie. 6.2). I have had to write a
PODS module to do the dialing before synching. Note that if you are using
UltraLite in addition to MBusiness, Ultralite does have built-in capability
to dialout.

JavaScript provides a method to ask for a connection from the device:

if(!avantgo.isOnline()) {
avantgo.connect();
avantgo.beginSync();
}

This request is handed off to the device to handle.

There's also that option in the Preferences section in the client "Go Online
Automatically". It's in the wireless tab.
