Hello group,
We are a little bit before PB 11 is going to be released and
along with that
the new features and support for .NET will be available.

I have run the Beta and saw many interesting stuff that make
me think that
Appeon is going to be obslete.

So my questions are easy.

1. What are the plans for Appeon after PB 11 is going to be
released?
2. Why should someone go to the Appeon solution and not use
the .NET
features of PowerBuilder 11. I am looking for a document
discussing it but I
haven't found anyhting.
As you understand we have to clear this in order to be
correct to what we
say to our customers so that no false impressions, about the
products, are
created.

If someone could be kind enough to provide me with answers
and possibly
pdf's discussing business wise Appeon against PB 11 then I
would be
gratefull...

If you want you can e-mal me directly at
dkaris@relational.gr.

Thank you in advance

Dimitris Karistinos

Have you worked with Appeon? You have a JavaScript version and an activex
version. The javascript version is too slow. The activex version is very
fast and very robust. If you are trying to run a C/S application in a
browser it will require the activex control to give you the rich features of
a c/s application.

Appeon is now on version 5. The product really hit a turning point with
version 2.8.

Hello Dean,
Ofcourse I have worked with Appeon and right now I am
running a new project regarding it.
Through my post I want to find out how appeon is giving us
an advantage against PB 11 and the .NET features that it
brings.

Kind Regards
Dimitris Karistinos

I was trying to express the important of the activex control in Appeon. PB11
does not have this.

Thank you for your attention at our product. Every
interested technician would probably have your question.
Therefore, I discussed with our Product Department, and send
a long document to your mailbox.

Happy Thanksgiving. Thanks should go to all Appeon's
friends.

I really dont like how PB11 displays MDI apps as tabs on a
webpage. That right there would help me make the decision.

I really like the tab concept, but it should be a choice. Standard MDI or
Tabs.

Neither Appeon or PB11 allow you to build objects or pages or controls that
can be used in other web applications. If either tool would allow that it
would make it so you can integrate new features into existing web sites and
web applications.
