Hi all!

After upgrading from 7.0.8 to 7.0.16 when I try to Import/Synchronize LDAP
Users from Active Diretory I get this error:
The Import/Syncronize User process can not be completed because of an error.
Please cancel to exit from the dialog wizard.

Pressing OK, gives the following message:
An error occurred while fetching Active Directory/LDAP users: Name
translation: Input name found, but not the associated output format. , hr
80072118

In the Server Activity Log, I see this associated message:
Unexpected failure detected: ComFailException

The currently added users can sync, but when they try to log on to the
web-service page. I cannot add new users throug LDAP sync, but with NT
Domain Users, the user add works.
Have anyone got any idea what could cause this?

/Jens

I have no idea what would cause that, but I would recommend upgrading to
7.0.24, which came out on Friday. It fixes some bugs found in 7.0.16,
and hopefully it will solve that one, as there is no obvious reason why
that would occur in 7.0.16, but not in 7.0.8, or at all.

Thanks,
Alex

Thanks for the reply.

We tried upgrading to 7.0.24 also, but the same error occurred.

We removed Pylon Anywhere and installed a clean install of 7.0.24 with an
empty db also gave the same error.
Then we tried a clean install of 7.0.16 with an empty db and this also gave
the same error.

When we installed 7.0.8 again, it worked both with a clean db and with the
backup of our production db.

Could it be some serverconfig that's been altered by the upgrade? The
strange thing then is that it works with 7.0.8.

It is entirely possible that something changed between 7.0.8 and 7.0.16
that would cause this to occur. Is it possible for you to stay at 7.0.8?

Hi Jens,

check out the IMDirectory.log file from the log folder of your Pylon
Anywhere installation. This file should contain more details on this issue.
