Hi all,

In one of our web applications, the M-Business Client crashes sporadically.
The crashes do not appear consistently in the same place.

We know that in general, the main reason for this is memory not being
released by closing recordsets etc as M-Business does not perform automatic
garbage collection.

What is the best way to determine what is causing the crashing? Are there
parameters that can be switched on for this kind of thing?

Cheers,

Shao

What version of the mBiz client are you running?
What device?
What OS on the device?
Are you using any PODS? If so, which ones?

Hi Dave, sorry - keep forgetting.

M-Business 6.2 b254.
Device is an Orange M5000
The pods we use are ones written for us by iAnywhere and also the logger
pod.

We would like to identify ourselves where the code is likely to cause the
problem. Are there any tools to assist in this?

Cheers,

Shao

Hi Shao,

we have this fromo time to time as well.
It seems to happen more often on overloaded (with objects and data) pages,
which supports your theory of mmory leaks.
What I noticed is that when some of the select/combo objects on the form
were trimmed (length of strings trimmed down), the crashes stopped occuring
/ at least for now.

Marcin
