At the moment - pre-replication when we update a database, we do a database
compare to our altered development database and execute the sql conversion
on the client database. Once we have implemented replications publications,
how will this be affected by changed to our development database which has
no publication information? I.e. will we manually have to recreate the
publications to contain the new fields.

Hi Paul,

By default, replication will always include all fields, so you would not
need to change the publication. However, if you have set a vertical filter
to include specific fields on a table, then only those fields will be
replicated. You would have to add new fields to the vertical filter. If
you exclude fields with a vertical filter, then new fields will be
replicated. Search for vertical filter in the following help page for more
information.

not to forget: If you add new fields, you need to make sure these
fields are also being added on the subscribed database...otherwise the
replication process will lock until this is fixed.
