Hello,

You guys been continuously helping me. I am really thankful to you. The
situation with me is I am totally new to C#. But from past few days, I
have been learning day and night to understand the complete object code and
the inventory tracker demo provided by RFID iAnhywhere.I understand that,
the simulator takes the details from the readers defined from reader1.smt
and reader2.smt. But, how do you link the excel file for the simulation, as
it shows the company name and other details of the product. As in simulator
files in the simulator editor, we do not mention the details for the company
and products. How is this achieved in Inventory Tracker?. where do you do
this comparison. In what software part? Visual .NET or administrator
console. This is really confusing me. How do I change the details to add
my own file of different company products. I want to know, how can I open
this file and edit it.

Thank you,
Haseeb

Let's make sure you have everything first, Haseeb.

Have you gotten the Inventory Tracker Demo to run
successfully? If not, before performing any of the steps
below, I would recommend going through Installing the
pre-configured Inventory Tracker demo on page 237 of the
Getting Started Guide.

When you install RFID Anywhere, by default it goes into
\Program Files\Sybase\RFID Anywhere. The Inventory Tracker
demo should have been installed and you should have an
Inventory Tracker folder in the RFID Anywhere directory
(\RFID Anywhere\Inventory Tracker). If you don't have the
Inventory Tracker folder, please read "Installing RFID
Anywhere 3.0 updates" in the Getting Started Guide.

Assuming you have the Inventory Tracker folder in the RFID
Anywhere directory, locate the SimulatedData folder in the
Inventory Tracker directory (Inventory
Tracker\SimulatedData) and open it. You should see 2 files,
reader1.smt and reader2.smt. Double-click on reader1.smt to
open the file. In the simulated data file, look at the T0
group. In the Encoding section for T0, you should see:

Filter 1
CompanyPrefix 3
ItemReference 6
SerialNumber 9

You can view this pattern in every group in reader1.smt and
the values will be different. Write the values down, (i.e.,
for the T0 group as described above, you would write down
the values as 1.3.6.9).

Next, in the RFID Anywhere\Inventory Tracker directory,
locate the SecondarySources folder (Inventory
Tracker\SecondarySources). In there you should find a file
called SecondarySource.xml. Double-click that file to open
it. You should see data that starts out like this:

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="us-ascii" standalone="yes"
?>
- <AssetCollection>
- <Asset>
<ID>1.1.2.5</ID>
<Company>Robertson Health</Company>
<SKU>AutoClean 77 Sterilizer</SKU>
</Asset>
- <Asset>
<ID>1.1.2.6</ID>
<Company>Robertson Health</Company>
<SKU>AutoClean 77 Sterilizer</SKU>
</Asset>

The value between <ID> </ID> is the value that we compare
against. The String between <Company> </Company> and <SKU>
</SKU> can be changed to anything you want.

Find the values you wrote down from looking at the .smt file
as instructed above. For example, from the reader1.smt
file, from group T0 the value was 1.3.6.9. In the
SecondarySource.xml file, I would look for this:

- <Asset>
<ID>1.3.6.9</ID>
<Company>ProHealthOne</Company>
<SKU>LH-26 Physician Digital Scale</SKU>
</Asset>

There is no need to change any code in VS.Net or anything in
the admin console. Make sure you have followed all
directions in the Inventory Tracker Demo instructions in the
Getting Started Guide for setting up and running the
Inventory Tracker Demo. If you have already done this and
gotten the Inventory Tracker Demo to work, then the changes
you made to the Company and SKU in the SecondarySource.xml
file will be displayed in the enterprise app when the demo
is run.

The process discussed above is on page 233 of the Getting
Started Guide.

Please, thoroughly read the documentation and work through
tutorial completely. If you want to learn about RFID
Anywhere and its components, please work completely through
the Inventory Tracker demo. Otherwise, just go directly to
Installing the pre-configured Inventory Tracker demo on page
237 of the Getting Started Guide.

You do not have to be a C# programmer to run and modify this
demo as you do not even have to go into VS.Net (unless you
are working through Lesson 6: The business module demo on
page 226 in the Getting Started Guide).
