I already have PowerDesigner 12.1 installed and a number of Business Process
and Use Case models already created in that version.
Now I'd like to install WorkSpace 1.6 in order to transfer some of my model
content over for development.
But the install process is giving me an error "Found Higher Version of
PowerDesigner. You need to uninstall the current version, then install
PD11.0 or PD 11.1, install WorkSpace and upgrade to the latest version 11 of
PowerDesigner. In case of problem, plkease contact Technical Support."

Is there any way I can get around using my 12.1 model content instead of
having to uninstall and re-install an older version?

Regards,
Sheila

I fought through this just the other day...

Uninstall PowerDesigner completely.
Install Workspace with the modeling components (which installs PD12.0)
Install the 12.1 MR over the top (it will find the Workspace install and
patch that)
Install the 12.1 EBFs into the Workspace install.

Now you should be able to open your existing 12.1 models in Workspace.

I am running WS1.6 with PD12.1

1. Save all your model files.
2. uninstall PD12.1
3. make sure WS is working properly
4. Install 12.1
5. Robert's your proverbial relative.
6. PD12.1 appears to use your WS1.6 licence

One word of warning, whilst PD 12.1 appears to use the WS
licence, it expires after a few (15? days), even though the
WS licence has many more days left, if installing the demo
version of PD 12.1

Just looking at my install - there's a sybase_workspace.lic file in the
\Workspace\init folder that seems to control Workspace as a whole. The PD
components are controlled with the PowerDesigner.1.lic file in the
\Workspace\Modeling folder.
