Hi,

I'm working on a new project which will involve Oracle to
Oracle replication (Oracle 9.2).

I'd like to use Sybase rep server for this.

I know what rep server can do when replicating ASE data, but
I don't really know what the limitations are for Oracle.

1. Can you replicate stored procedures ?
2. Can triggers fire for inserts into the replicate side ?
3. Am I correct in assuming that the Rep Agent has to run on
the same machine as the source Oracle database ?

Thanks for any info!

Michael

I'll answer my own questions so that anyone else searches
the newsgroups for a similar issue...

Yes, but not procedures that are part of packages.

Yes - actually it looks like you can't *disable* triggers
from the replication server side like you can for
replication to ASE.

Yes (or at least it needs to have read access the redo log
and archive log files).
