I am porting an application that used SQL Anywhere 5 to a
currently purchasable version. I have tested it with
version 9.0 and it works. I used the 60-day eval, which is
for the $2500 product. I'm curious what is the least
expensive packaging of the product I need. To open a
database with this application one configures it with ODBC
administrator and specifies the engine (dbeng9.exe). Then
the application can open it and the database engine is
started at the same time. This is all running locally on an
XP desktop.

I notice I can purchase versions such as "Personal DB Seat",
"Desktop Bundle", etc that are all much less expensive than
$2500. Would this be sufficient for this application?

In case anyone reading this later wants to know the answer,
I contacted Sybase at the email address provided below and
was promptly called back. I was told I need to purchase SQL
Anywhere Base 9.0, which is about $399.
