We have a statefull application running on EA Sever 5.3, PB
10.5 Build 5079 and Oracle 10g. We have more than 250 users
which use this application for around 8 to 9 hours everyday.
We have recently upgraded from PB 9 to PB 10.5 Build 5079,
from EA Server 4.2.3 to EA Server 5.3 and Oracle 9i to
Oracle 10g. After the upgrade we have seen more memory
utilization on application servers and it does not release
the memory at all even when there is no user on the server.
jagsrv process just retains the memory and does not release
memory at all. We also have server crashes when the memory
utilization on the box is around 1.7-1.8GB (Window 2000
Advanced Server with 4GB Ram and /3GB switch in boot.ini).
We are aware that there is memory leak on .modify function
and set filter. Here are couples of questions I have and I
would appreciate any help
1. Do you know if there is a memory leak profiler for PBVM
to find out what objects are holding memory and which piece
of the code could be cause of the problem?
2. Do you know if you have seen more memory utilization on
PB 10 as compared to PB 9?
3. What are steps you have taken to resolve the memory leak
issues with PBVM?
4. Do you know if there is any issue with the PBVM garbage
collection?

We are destroying all the NVOs as well as data stores to
make sure they are eligible for garbage collection.

Thanks for the help in advance.

Thanks
Harman

There is memory leak on setfilter/modify functions with PB
10.5 build 5079. Upgrade to Build 6627 at least to resolve
some the memory leak in PBVM if you are using any version
prior to 10.5 5079.
